Animation Timeline

ANIMATION TIMELINE
1914- Gortie The Disnosour (Winsor McCoy) - For this animation Winsor used 10 thousand images to make this short animation film. He used the cycling technique where you repeat patters over and over again. He used registration marks and iStopMotion to do it all.
1919- Sillhoute animator (Lotte Reigner) - Sillhoute animation is where characters perform as black sillhoutes to perform the moving image. She based i on Chinese sillhoute puppet shows.
1928- Steamboat Willie (Walt Disney) - The cartoon is considered the debut of Mickey Mouse. It was the first cartoon animation to have a fully fast produced soundtrack.
Steamboat willie is known for its syncronized sound.
1929- The Skeleton Dance - (Walt Disney & Ub Iwerks) - This was voted as one of the best cartoons in 1994. It was also used in the film "Ghost Ride" in 2007.
1988- Jan Svankmajer - A czech film maker known for his surreal animation. The first film he made was "Alice" in 1988 it was used as a live iStopMotion.
