THE REGULATORS
1. The ASA (Advertising Standards Authority) regulates TV advertising in the UK
2. To make a complain about a TV Ad which you thought was offensive you would have to go on the ASA website and look for 'Make a Complaint' and then from there you follow the 5 steps given to make your complaint.
3.
4. In this TV Ad we see celebrities repeatedly swearing and talking about famine. They then begin to draw the attention of how many people in Africa are dying from the drought and how it is affecting many people across the continent. Another person then swears appearing to be shocked about what's happening. In the Ad they then go on about how we can prevent this from happening and making it stop trying to talk to the viewers watching to help out. After that some of them repeat the word 'famine' a few times. Someone then uses the 'F' word again and it then says 'we are not asking for your money' 'we are asking for your voice'. Then an image appears with the word 'ONE' and then underneath that 'ONE.ORG'.
5. This Ad was banned because of the amound of swearing used.
6. I dont think the Regulators were right to banned the Ad neither do I think they wrong for banning it. I say this because although people are swearing its not for a bad reason its to express their anger about what's going on in Africa and to get people watching the Ad as to why they are so angry and its also for a good cause. However I understand why the Regulators banned it because of the amount of swearing used children may be watching the Ad and because at the beginning its not quite clear why they are swearing it woudnt be approriate for young children to be watching, but yet again children would not understand the Ad because they are young, so I personally dont think the swearing involved was all that offensive because they also beeped it out when they did swear.
