Evaluation of video profile (400 words)

My video profile is my first project for my BTEC Level 3 Creative Media Course.
This project was an experiement to see what I could really do within this course and also this is all new to me and a new experience because I have never done nothing like this before so it was nice learning how to edit and learn techniques. Within this project we we taught about the 5 shot rule which was close-up,extreme close up, wide shot, long shot and over the shoulder shot.

Overall looking back at the final finish of my video profile I think it was an ok job. I know there is still a lot of room of improvement, such as being more confident infront of the camera, being more creative and experiement more and hopefully these things I can apply to my next project but for someone who dosent have experience I think I did good. I used some of the 5 shot rule like the close ups, over the shoulder so the viewer could see what I was looking at and a birds eye view and also used background music, transitions and photos.

Not only did I evaluate myself on the video but I got some friends to also comment on what I did good and what I could improve. The positive feedback I got was that my video had clear visuals and good transitions, and that the pictures I used was good to show who and what I was talking about. The negative feedback I got was that at times the background music sometimes overpowered my voice and that I should use more transitions.

I think my negative is that my music sometimes was louder than my voice, which is error that next time around I dont make again. I could of experiemented more with different shots and angles.

Hopefully next time around to pic up my voice if the music somehow over powers my voice use a mic so that my voice is louder and can still be heard. Aswell as that having more confidence to do more things an just experiement more with what I do visual when making a video.
