5 shot rule

The 5 shot Rule

The close up shot is one used for close ups on the face so you can see detail on the persons face and so that you can see their emotion.

An over the shoulder shot is where the camera is placed behind your shoulder to see what the person is doing from a different angle.

The Long shot is to show the full body from head to toe, showing what the person is wearing and also to see their body language.

The wide shot is to show the persons surroundings and the location they are using.

The extreme close up shot is to see their features close up.
